Letter from the Chairman:
In order to improve communications with our shareholders, management has decided to post regular updates concerning the company on this web site under the heading “News in Brief” under which we will from time to time publish any developments which may be relevant and/or of interest to the shareholders of the UCP group and its subsidiaries.


Summing up the start of the year we have experienced relative growth in Tre Kronor Media & Advertising including its subsidiaries. Management´s focus continues to be on organic growth in Tre Kronor by endeavoring to grow the business through both its existing client base and new clients.




In keeping with this strategy, in the first quarter of this year, Tre Kronor won new clients which include, most notably, Arvid Nordquist Nordic, Freixinet Nordic and Weather Pal with content from SMHI. During this time, Tre Kronor also retained its high ranking in the industry by being ranked second in the Stockholm Media Award in May and earlier this year in Dagens Media Agency of the Year, for the third year in a row.
The investment in Insight Media A/S has proven to be a good investment. A 7% stake in the company was re-acquired by the two founders which allowed to strengthen Tre Kronor´s financials while retaining a 23% ownership in Insight.




Management has worked hard to bring down the group´s cost structure over the last several months and managed to reach satisfactory repayment agreements with all of its external creditors. As communicated earlier this year, UCP was able to further reduce costs by filing form 15 and thereby eliminating costs related to SEC reporting and SOX regulations. Despite these efforts, the Company continues to bear a cost structure that is significantly burdensome and continues to depend on Tre Kronor advancing funds from its cash flow and will continue to depend on financing going forward.

Niclas Fröberg was appointed as chief executive officer for UCP on September 20, 2010. Niclas was appointed to the board of directors on March 15, 2011. He began his media career in 1990 at TV3, where he started as responsible for sales in the TV program ‘Wheel of Fortune’ into the Scandinavian market. In 1995, Niclas joined media agency Scandinavian Media Consultant, where he became Chief Executive Officer and later, owner. Four years later, WPP and MindShare acquired Scandinavian Media Consultant. During 1999 to 2006, Niclas worked as Nordic chief executive officer at MindShare leading over 150 people and $250 million media buying. In 2007, Niclas became a co-founder of Tre Kronor Media, a media agency focused on sales and performance-based marketing. Niclas has several times been international/national jury member in awards such as Media Lion Cannes, Guldägget, Dubai Lynx and 100-wattaren. Niclas has a Bachelor’s Degree of Economics and Marketing, from Stockholm University. Niclas presently devotes his full business time to UCP.

Lars is a veteran in the advertising industry. He founded the Swedish advertising agency ’Sexton87′, which was later acquired by Ogilvy & Mather, and then became the Chairman & CEO of Ogilvy Sweden and Ogilvy Nordic, which he headed to become the largest advertising group in the Nordic countries. Lars was also participating in the launch of Mindshare in the Nordic market and was Chairman during 1999-2005. Lars was also on the Board of Directors of the Publ. listed Company Zodiak Television during 2004-2008, among a lot of other Board assignments. After leaving Ogilvy in 2005, Lars started the investment firm BBE Group, who has since then invested in a large number of small companies and start-ups in the Nordic Market. Among other qualifications, Lars brings to the Board executive leadership experience, including wide experiences of corporate mergers and acquisition, along with extensive brand marketing experience.

LARS BÖNNELYCHE
CIO

Mr. Bönnelyche has more than three decades of increasing experience at the C-Suite level and the areas of Management, Sales, Marketing, Startup launches, Digital Content, and Entertainment. Lars has held key governance roles at companies such as Mindshare, RSM Rocket Science Media, MedEnt and TV3.

Prior to Lars’ entry into the media industry, he served as a lieutenant in the Swedish Royal Navy Reserves for almost five years.
Mr. Bönnelyche continually receives accolades from members of the advertising community who recognize his contributions. Some awards received prior to his time within UCP Group over the years include:

RUSTA REKLAMFILM

Mycket försäljning för pengarna, det är reklam för Rusta det.

När Rusta satsade en del av mediepengarna på att utveckla reklamfilmerna gav det ännu mycket mer för pengarna i försäljning. Genom att på ett mer fantasifullt och underhållande sätt använda en hjälteprodukt i varje film lyckades vi öka försäljningen med 11,5 % (nästan 300 mkr mer). Detta trots att investeringen i TV minskade med 25 %. Filmerna bygger på idén på att visualisera Rustas pay off “Mycket för pengarna” på ett oväntat men ändå relevant sätt. Med realistiska miljöer och produkter satta i en osannolik handling skapas en förhöjd verklighet, en Rustavärld, där allt är möjligt.





NET1

MOBILT INTERNET FRÅN NET1 FÖR ALLA PÅ LANDSBYGDEN SOM ÄR ARGA OCH FRUSTRERADE.

Den enda operatören som erbjuder mobilt internet till landsbygden behövde påminna om att de finns och deras tjänst fungerar både i centrum och långt ut på landsbygden eller i kustbandet. I stället för att associeras med sviktande mobilt bredband så erbjuder Net 1 en kommunikationstjänst som fungerar där du befinner dig. Vi gjorde en film som på ett roligt och igenkännligt sätt visar hur frustrerande det kan vara med dålig eller bristfällig täckning. Net 1 är en resultatbaserad kund så ju bättre det går för Net 1 desto bättre går det för oss. Det blir roligare så.





MEDIA




1+1=3

Ibland tittar man lite extra på en banner. Speciellt om det är bebis på gång.

Timing is everything. Ögonblicket efter att kronprinsessans graviditet blev offentlig bytte vi snabbt ut bannern överst på aftonbladet.se. Från en vanlig 3-banner till en gratulation till kronprinsessparet. Vissa möjligheter dyker bara upp en gång. I det här fallet lyckades vi fånga tillfället i flykten och fick ett starkt medialt genomslag både pr-mässigt och gentemot målgruppen. Det hela blir inte sämre av att 3 har det snabbaste mobila bredbandet enligt tidskriften Mobil. Snabbt ska det gå.

3 ville hitta nya kreativa sätt att nå ut till en reklamtrött målgrupp för att sälja telefoner men också för att skapa mer gillande.

De stora mobiloperatörerna konkurrerar hårt och överträffar varandra i helsidor, banners, sponsring och tv-reklam. Finns det inga andra sätt?
Lösningen för 3 blev Mobilrådgivningen. Informativa artiklar om mobiler och mobilt bredband på dn.se som länkar vidare till tre.se. Informativt och intressant samtidigt som läsarna får en bra känsla för vilka mobiler och tjänster som 3 erbjuder.
Vi skapade konceptet, hanterar journalistiken och mediaplaceringen. Extra roligt var att vi var först med en redaktionell partnersajt på dn.se. Mobilrådgivningen optimeras och uppdateras dagligen.
